The problem here is that nobody will know how good the connectivity to
any of these user defined server will be. This is especially true for
IPv6.
So what is exactly supposed to happen to bug reports concerning online
state with a user defined server? Ignore them? Use wall-clock time to
figure out that the user indeed changed the service although not
noticing it himself? And this is not just for noticing online, it also
detects captive portals on the way.
With {ipv4,ipv6}.connman.net it's always at least upstream's fault when
it doesn't work and can be fixed.

Perhaps even showing the code here doesn't even help.
