Yes strace is a good starting point.

When I was able to reproduce it here (not anymore) they symbols did exists
and were exported. The link loader just didn't fix the symbols up, IIRC
it was something about the gold linker.

Yes, it's possible with DeviceName which exists in version 1.38 of ConnMan.
