Dear Connoteaites, I'm writing to let you know about a new GreaseMonkey extension to Connotea that I hope you might be interested in trying out. Very briefly, it (ED the Entity Describer) provides social taggers (you) with an easy way to utilize terms from existing controlled vocabularies (such as MeSH) in combination with your own tags. It is designed to provide many of the benefits of controlled vocabularies (consistency, non-ambiguity, relations between terms) while maintaining the all of the benefits of tagging (speed, flexibility, personalization,).
I hope that you find it useful and fun. You can find out more about what ED does, how to install it, and how to use it on its wiki page: http://www.connotea.org/wiki/ EntityDescriber Please do let me know what you think about it (its part of my PhD research). best regards -Ben ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
