The Centre for Research Collections at the University of Edinburgh is seeking a 
full time Projects Conservator to work on a major collections rationalisation 
project in connection with the development of the University Collections 
Facility at South Gyle. Based at South Gyle and the Main Library in George 
Square, Edinburgh, you will be required to address the preventive and 
interventive conservation needs of rare books and archive collections.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who holds a good honours 
degree or equivalent relevant experience with a conservation or preservation 
focus. Comprehensive knowledge of conservation working practices and procedures 
is essential, as is attention to detail, communication skills and commitment to 
long-term professional development.
This role will form part of a team of five new project posts being created to 
work on this key project. The project is crucial in ensuring the ongoing 
stability and discover-ability of collections and presents an excellent 
opportunity to gain relevant work experience within a dynamic and supportive 
work environment.
