The Hamilton Kerr Institute for the conservation of easel paintings is a
postgraduate teaching institution with an international reputation for the
high quality of its programmes of instruction for students and interns. It
also operates an active and wide-ranging research programme and is a
department of the Fitzwilliam Museum.
The Institute undertakes the conservation of easel paintings for the
Fitzwilliam Museum, and also for external public and private collections.
Its clients include the University of Cambridge, the National Trust and the
Royal Collection.
One internship will be offered from September 2017. Tenable for one year,
the intern may be invited to extend the internship for a further year.
Applicants should be recent graduates from a recognised training programme.
The internships are designed to allow concentration on practical studio
work, but with opportunities for research work, depending on current
projects at the Institute.
The internship will be funded, with a maintenance grant of £1,200 per month.

Applicants should also arrange for two reference letter to be sent to the
Administrator, directly by their referees, before the closing date.
