Does anyone have experience of providing discreet security for books in historic interiors, taking into consideration that the bookshelves cannot be altered or tampered with? I have used boards made of hardboard or acrylic, with fishing-line strung between them, and pressure-pad alarms but there is not always space for methods that require boards and alarm systems are not always appropriate.
