1) I'd avoid the Saran wrap...if you have to "collar" your candles with 
anything try strips of plain white paper towel or acid-free paper, but!
2) WHY are beeswax candles wanted? *what period is being interpreted?* We just 
researched candlemaking history to dress an 1860 Christmas table... in sum:
1840+ you can use paraffin (see patents)...even colored candles (alkanet root, 
etc) post-1850
Earlier?  would have been tallow, not beeswax, generally...

Bayberry candles are wonderful but generally shortish (how tall are your candle 
sticks?) and only appropriate to certain areas of the country. 
So...if paraffin is truly wrong for your candlesticks? fallback is tallow....
