Hi my name is Damiana Magris, I am a MA student in Preventive Conservation at Northumbria University, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK.
I am currently undertaking research for my dissertation on lighting systems in exhibition areas within museums and other cultural institutions. The aim of my research is to respond to the complex search for an ideal ‘conservation lighting’ for light-sensitive materials on exhibition. As part of my research, I am conducting a survey – aimed at museums and/or cultural institutions with light-sensitive objects in their exhibition areas – to collect information and related issues on current use of Solid-State light systems (LEDs and/or OLEDs). The information gathered will be summarised and used with the purpose of better contextualising my research on making informed choices about lighting, and improve the state of knowledge about conservation light management. To this end, I have put together a questionnaire, I would be extremely grateful if you could contribute to my research by taking part in a short survey (link provided below); it should take no longer than 10 minutes, and it will be open until 15 July 2017. Please feel free to pass this link on to any relevant contacts or colleagues. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ZJJBGHL The questionnaire is anonymous and voluntary. Responses will not be identified by individual in my dissertation, all responses will be compiled together and analysed as a group. Your knowledge and experience will make an invaluable contribution to this research. Data generated through this survey will be securely managed and disposed of in accordance with the Northumbria University guidelines. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance, your contribution is very important.
