*Icon Ceramics and Glass Group Conference*
Date: September 7th and 8th 2017 Venue: Magdalen College, Oxford, OX1 4AU, UK The Ceramics and Glass Group has organised a dynamic programme of speakers and guided tours for our upcoming conference held in Oxford this September. On the first day delegates will have the opportunity to visit the Conservation Laboratory or the Conservation Galleries at the Ashmolean Museum which both opened in 2009 as a part of the museum redevelopment. The gallery tour will be led by Mark Norman, former UKIC chair and recently retired Head of Conservation at the Ashmolean. That evening the conference dinner will be held at the Golden Cross Pizza Express on Cornmarket, housed in a historic market building famous for its preserved medieval wall painting. On the second day presentations from an international pool of speakers will be held at Magdalen College; one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford founded in 1458. Lunch in the main college dining hall is included in the delegate package. Speakers and posters will cover a range of conservation topics concerning ceramics, glass and enamels including 3D printing in clay. Friday’s day of talks will be drawn to a close with an outdoor drinks reception in the exquisite college Cloisters. The CGG conference has been planned to coincide with Oxford Open Doors <http://technology-trust-news.org/6S6-4Z326-1DOIFL-2NMZ8E-1/c.aspx> held on the weekend of September 9th and 10th.
