West Yorkshire Archive Service collects, preserves and provides public access to the archival history of West Yorkshire from the 12th century to the present day. The WYAS Conservation section provides collections care and conservation services for these archives across seven sites and to external clients. The Conservation section has an opportunity for a qualified conservator. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Conservation and Conservation Technician with the full range of professional conservation duties within the team's broad range of archives collection conservation and preservation work. This includes cleaning, making packaging for and carrying out interventive treatments on the full range of archives material as well as monitoring the archive storage environments. The successful candidate will have a recognised conservation qualification and experience of working with archives. The post will be based at the West Yorkshire History Centre in Wakefield with regular travel to WYAS Morley, Leeds, Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford.
