The Washington Conservation Guild is pleased to announce that our Holiday Meeting will feature the businessman and philanthropist David Rubenstein as our speaker. Rubenstein is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Smithsonian Institution and a Trustee of the National Gallery of Art. He is a major contributor to the preservation of cultural heritage through his philanthropic efforts which have included the restoration of the Washington Monument after the earthquake in 2011. He will speak about his motivation to support conservation efforts from a donor's perspective and answer questions from the audience. Location and Transportation: The holiday meeting will be held in the Great Hall of the Folger Shakespeare Library, located at 201 E. Capitol St. SE. There is limited street parking so please make arrangements to arrive by taxi, ride-share, or public transportation if possible. The nearest metro stations are Capitol South (orange, yellow, silver) and Union Station (red). MetroBus and Circulator stops are only a few blocks away.
