The Association for Materials & Methods in Paleontology is pleased to announce 
that abstract submission and early registration for the 11th Annual Meeting 
held in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 24-28, 2018 is now open! Complete details 
can be viewed online at paleomethods.org.



Important Dates to Remember

Abstract Submission Deadline: February 1, 2018. Information on abstract 
guidelines for platform and poster presentations is available online.
Early Registration Deadline: March 1, 2018. Rates increase after this date.
A special host hotel rate is available until April 3, 2018, or until the group 
block is sold-out, whichever comes first.


Programming at a Glance

Begin your week with a pre-meeting workshop or field trip on Tuesday, April 24 
(for an additional fee).

Our regular Annual Meeting program starts off on Wednesday, April 25 with two 
special symposia: In-situ Conservation and Health & Safety, followed by full 
day of workshops, mini-courses, demonstrations, and collections tours, and 
finally a day of platform presentations.

Wrap up your week by joining your colleagues at Ashfall Fossil Beds State 
Historical Park (for an additional fee), where you will see incredibly 
detailed, articulated skeletons of Miocene wildlife preserved in-situ in their 
death positions.

Persons who wish to participate in the pre/post meeting activities should 
register early to secure their spot.



Awards

Are you a university student working on an exciting new project or technique? 
Please consider applying for the Russ McCarty Student Travel Grant during your 
abstract submission. Eligible applicants must submit an abstract for a talk or 
poster at the annual meeting and will be selected from a pool of applicants by 
the Awards Committee.

Know of a colleague whose career was instrumental influencing yourself and 
others into the paleontologists you are today? Why not nominate them for the 
AMMP William W. Amaral Legacy Award. Nomination deadline is February 1, 2018.

We all know that special someone who goes above and beyond to help shape AMMP 
into what it is today. Please consider nominating them for the AMMP Service 
Award. Nomination deadline is March 15, 2018.
