The Conservation Department of the Yale University Art Gallery is pleased to 
offer a Postgraduate Fellowship in Objects Conservation. The full-time, 
one-year position will start in September 2018, with a possibility of a one 
year renewal. The Fellow will examine, research, and treat works from the 
Gallery's extensive and encyclopedic collections.  Working with curators, 
registrars, art-handlers, among others, the Fellow will also participate in a 
wide range of activities at the Gallery including installations, loans, and 
preventive care.  The Fellow will be given time to complete a research project 
on a topic of their choice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity 
to work with research scientists in Yale's Institute for the Preservation of 
Cultural Heritage, as well as conservators from other Yale institutions. Yale 
University's resources at large will also contribute to and enhance this 
Fellowship. 
The Fellowship includes a stipend of $38,000, health insurance, and $3,000 for 
travel and research funding. The applicant should be a graduate of a recognized 
conservation training program or have equivalent training.  Fluency in English 
language and demonstrated visual, manual, research, documentation, and writing 
abilities are required.
