Permanent Full-time, 37.5 hrs per week UKP45,000 per annum Location flexible (if in London an additional allowance may be applicable); substantial travel to NT properties required Job reference: IRC57674 As Paper Conservation Adviser and our national specialist in the care and conservation of paper-based collections, you will ensure that our consultancy and National Trust properties have the necessary knowledge and skills to improve their performance, while achieving sustainable standards of conservation, access and presentation. Keeping abreast of the latest ideas, guiding research and developing new techniques and technologies, you will use your expertise to provide advice to clients at properties, in the Consultancy and Whole Trust, and to lead and support projects. You will assist staff across the Trust in identifying innovative ways in which our diverse paper objects, from watercolours, prints drawings, maps, archives, and miniatures to wallpaper, globes and book collections, can inspire visitors and become accessible to all; help to plan and interpret conservation of our special collections; and support fund-raising to enable further conservation and acquisitions. You will also seek opportunities to demonstrate the Trust's work in this field, and support its broader strategy to 'move, teach and inspire'.
