Dear all Coimbra (Portugal) will host, in September 2018, the Conference “New Trends in Cultural Heritage Biodeterioration”, sponsored by the International Biodeterioration and Biodegradation Society. In this biennial event, experts, scholars, and professionals from all over the world are gathered to discuss this very pressing issue and Portugal will host this event for the first time in the beautiful city of Coimbra. The choice of location is no accident. The Alta, Sofia, and University areas are classified as World Heritage by UNESCO and are, therefore, the perfect setting to highlight the need for Cultural Heritage Preservation. The conference, from the 5th to the 7th of September, will focus on the ongoing study of Cultural Heritage biodeterioration, new methodologies and also the current state of the art in terms of treatment and solutions.
