Daria K conservation,LLC, a conservation studio in NYC specializing in modern and contemporary art on paper, is seeking a full or part-time paper conservator for a one year contract.
Job Description: The successful candidate will assist the studio staff with all aspects of studio work: from on-site assessments of artwork, to report writing, conservation treatment, housing of artwork, and studio organization. Required experience: Candidate should have a degree from a recognized conservation training program or equivalent professional training and a minimum of two years experience in the field. Qualifications Highly organized with good time management skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines. Knowledge of proper care and handling of works on paper. Knowledge of and experience with basic conservation treatment techniques. Ability to write coherent and concise condition reports and perform on-site condition checks. Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with a small team. Strong communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of and interest in modern and contemporary art.
