Pratt’s Science and Art Symposium V April 18 and 19, 2018 Science at the interface of Artists’ Materials, Techniques, and Conservation This international symposium brings together scientists, art conservators, art historians, curators, and archeologists, who will explore the fundamental scientific and art historical questions that relate to the understanding and conservation of art. Moreover, the symposium provides the opportunity of dialog among these disciplines, which need to work together in order to preserve our works of art and cultural heritage for future generations. A collaboration of Pratt Institute chemists, art historians, and art conservators have organized this symposium to further interdisciplinary work. Prof. Eleonora Del Federico and Prof. Cindie Kehlet, Department of Mathematics and Science have spearheaded the symposium with help from Prof. Diana Gisolfi and Prof. Lisa Banner, History of Art and Design and Stockman Family Fellow Sarah Nunberg, Department of Mathematics and Science.
