Studies – Conservation in

Conservation of Paintings and Polychrome Sculpture
- Succession Professor Volker Schaible -
(Bes.-Gr. W 3) starting April 1st, 2019.

The successful candidate will represent the field in its full professional range.
She/he should provide evidence of experience in the theory and practice of
preservation and conservation of paintings and polychrome sculpture in teaching. Substantial knowledge both in materials and art technology and their histories
are prerequisite. Successful candidates are expected to make significant
service contributions to the academic self-governance of the department and
institution, to collaborate in interdisciplinary research projects and conferences. They conduct BA- and MA-level examinations and guide doctoral-level students.
Submission requirements:
- a relevant degree,
- excellent expertise in conservation practice including preservation as well
as art technology,
- experience in museum work and cultural heritage preservation,
- evidence of successful research work (PhD or equivalent achievements),
- successful solicitation of third-party funding,
- notable pedagogical competence and
- vision concerning the position and future development of the programme.
Should the official requirements for an appointment to civil service not be fulfilled,
an employment outside the above-specified rate is possible.
