Fine Arts Conservator, GT-06

The successful candidate:

  *   conserves fine art* by leading, and independently developing, planning, 
coordinating, and conducting conservation and restoration treatment projects.
  *   tests and reports on conservation development projects;
  *   communicates concepts, ideas and research results through written 
reports, publications and oral communications to national and international 
clients, conservators, scientists and non-technical individuals;
  *   advises clients on preventive conservation, treatment and other 
preservation issues related to fine art through site visits, on-site work, 
surveys, development of publications and training;
  *   delivers training through seminars, and workshops;
  *   supervises fine art conservation interns;
  *   acts as an advocate for conservation

Fine Arts Conservator, GT-04

The successful candidate:

  *   carries out conservation treatment of fine art* under supervision;
  *   influences the direction of their own conservation projects;
  *   tests and records results related to innovative conservation treatment 
development projects related to fine arts;
  *   communicates concepts, ideas and research results through written 
reports, publications and oral communications to national and international 
clients, conservators, scientists and non-technical individuals;
  *   assists in advising clients on preventive conservation, treatment and 
other preservation issues related to fine art through site visits, on-site 
work, surveys, development of publications and training;
  *   assists with delivery of training through seminars and workshops

* "Fine art" may include the following: historical paintings (pre-20th century) 
and modern and contemporary art.
