The New York Public Library seeks to hire a Conservation Technician to support 
the conservation treatment unit by carrying out out work that is needed for the 
efficient functioning of the conservation laboratory and by assisting with 
preparation of objects for exhibition and loan. 

The technician carries out their work in the Barbara Goldsmith Conservation lab 
in Long Island City, with occasional subway travel to the Stephen A. Schwarzman 
Building and other NYPL sites. The job includes computer use, standing for long 
periods, lifting, use of sharp tools, use of a hot plate, and occasional use of 
solvents with proper training, safety gear and fume extraction.
