AIC 47th Annual Meeting, May13-17, 2019 Call for papers Electronic Media Group (EMG)
The Electronic Media Group (EMG) of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) is calling for papers on the conservation of time-based media for the AIC annual meeting, May 13-17, 2019 in Uncasville, CT. The theme of the meeting is "New Tools, Techniques, and Tactics in Conservation and Collection Care" (http://www.conservation-us.org/annual-meeting/aic-annual-meeting). Submissions that address topics falling within the meeting's theme are encouraged, but other relevant topics of interest to the Electronic Media Group can also be explored. Other topics may include: * Preservation procedures and systems; * Organization of work; * Storage solutions for digital art and migration of files; * Conservation of software-based art, internet-based art, app-based art, and art that involves both an electronic media and a sculptural component; * Collaborations between professionals with different expertise; * Impact of Artist interviews; * Preservation of light-based art; * Solutions for the documentation of electric and electronic art with various tools and databases; * Making the most of the least: how to be resourceful when resources are scarce or missing. Abstracts should be submitted through the AIC website (more info to follow soon): http://www.conservation-us.org/annual-meeting/aic-annual-meeting/call-for-submissions. Editing will still be permitted once the abstract has been uploaded. Abstracts will be published in the Meeting Abstract Book. Papers to be published by EMG will be due by July 1st, 2019.
