Dear Colleagues, The Washington Conservation Guild's (WCG) 2018/2019 season is off to a great start! For all those in the Washington-Baltimore region and afar, we wanted to share our upcoming events and the monthly meeting schedule.
Upcoming Events: - Our next monthly meeting will be on Thursday October 4, 2018 in the Belle Vue Room at Dumbarton House (2715 Q Street NW, Washington, DC 20007) and our speaker will be Ms. Stacy Bowe, Training Coordinator of the Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative. - Registration is *NOW OPEN* for the *3rd Annual Safety and Cultural Heritage Summit*, sponsored by the WCG, the Potomac Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the Smithsonian Institution's Office of Safety, Health, and Environmental Management, the Smithsonian National Collections Program and the Lunder Conservation Center. The Summit will be on Wednesday November 7, 2018 with the theme: *Control of Health and Safety Hazards in Museums, Historic Sites, Conservation Treatment, and Collection Care; *it will be held from 9a-5p in the McEvoy Auditorium at the Smithsonian American Art Museum (8th & G Streets NW, Washington DC).
