Main Responsibilities:
Purpose of the job
Using your skills and specialisation in either textiles or paper conservation, 
you will deliver the conservation of objects and ensure any risks to objects 
are managed effectively. You will support the accountability of the collections 
by working within IWM Collection Management departmental policies and 
procedures as well as maintaining documentation on Collection Management 
Systems and other programmes, as requested by the Conservation Manager.

Key duties:
The role is to support the Conservation Department of the IWM, which is based 
across the IWM sites. In particular, you will work with paper or textile 
objects for the loans-in programme; the loans-out programme, exhibitions 
programmes and storage programme. Tasks will include condition reporting, 
treatment proposals, exhibition installation support and undertaking practical 
conservation treatments.

According to your location, you will have a ‘base’ museum where you will 
primarily work. However, work might be available at other IWM sites across the 
UK. The IWM will facilitate the travel for this.
You will be expected to work independently as well as across different teams in 
order to contribute to and deliver the priorities of IWM - using your 
knowledge, skills, talent and potential to the best of your ability.
