We are hiring for a Fixed Term Conservator (12 months) to work on the Fine Art & Paintings Collection at the Whitworth. Now with an award winning new building, with exemplary exhibition spaces, study spaces and collection stores, there could not be a better time to join. We need an open-minded, passionate conservator to work with our small but significant collection of oil and acrylic paintings.
We are looking for a dynamic, collaboratively minded conservator who is prepared to deal with a combination of historic oils and contemporary acrylics, with a flexible and innovative approach to problem-solving. The post will be expected to undertake a collections survey, improve storage systems and undertake a programme of stabilizing treatments. As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the black and minority ethnic (BME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area. All appointments will be made on merit. The closing date is 20 November 2018, application and further information can be accessed via the link below: https://www.jobs.manchester.ac.uk/internal/displayjob.aspx?jobid=16328 Kind Regards Sarah Potter Conservator (Preventive, Object and Installation) +44 (0)161 275 7807 the Whitworth University of Manchester Oxford Road Manchester M15 6ER ****** Unsubscribe by sending a message to [email protected] Searchable archives: http://cool.conservation-us.org/byform/mailing-lists/cdl/
