We are seeking a number of short (5-10 minute) presentations to be followed by a panel discussion and question-and-answer session with the audience. What changes have you encountered at your organization in recent years? What challenges do these changes pose to your work? What collections are at risk? Have collecting policies changed your priorities? Do new initiatives mean new workflows? How do you meet new demands and still perform your core mission of caring for collections? What solutions have you come up with? What positive outcomes have resulted from these challenges? Possible topics for discussion may include: - Budget cuts - Space limitations - Changes in institutional leadership/new institutional priorities - Pressures to not just “do more with less” but “what can we NOT do anymore” - Changes in staffing - Collaborations with other departments, allied organizations, and local communities - Innovative ideas for space, storage, and supplies - New grant opportunities - New supply vendors - Alternative housing and storage solutions We are looking for a wide range of perspectives and experiences and encourage participation from across all types of archival settings.
