Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and qualified object Conservator with experience of 
working in a busy conservation laboratory to join the Wilshire Conservation and 
Museum Advisory service, based at the state of the art Wiltshire and Swindon 
History Centre.

About the role

As part of an innovative and forward looking Libraries, Heritage & Arts 
Service, you will carry out conservation treatments on a variety of objects 
including archaeology, social history and ceramics; write reports and give 
advice to clients such as museums, heritage organisations and individuals; 
engage with members of the public and community organisations; and assist in 
delivering other income generation activity.

About you

We will look to you to be a qualified Conservator with an undergraduate or 
post-graduate conservation degree and experience of working on a range of 
materials. Experience of working in a commercial conservation environment is 
desirable.

You will be up date with current treatments and best practice, with a desire to 
continue developing your skills within this role. Well organised with excellent 
communication skills, you will have the drive, enthusiasm and initiative to 
work independently and as part of multi-disciplinary team.

You will be able to plan work streams, taking a proactive approach in 
anticipating workload and prioritising accordingly; and have good customer care 
skills; and enthuse a wide range of audiences to participate in 
heritage-related activities.
