We are recruiting for a Conservator: Organics with specialist knowledge and
experience in the conservation of wood and painted surfaces, in order to care
for the collection through a combination of interventive and preventive
measures in support of the Museum's operating plan.

The post-holder will contribute to the preparation of objects for loan,
exhibition and permanent display, as well as supporting dedicated projects on
collections in store. This role will also involve delivering an increasingly
diverse public programme and supporting the department with the implementation
of the Collection Care strategy.

The successful candidate will possess a recognised professional conservation
qualification to degree level, or equivalent, in the field of paintings
conservation. With post-training work experience in the museum and heritage
sector, you will have strong knowledge of contemporary principles and practice
in preventive conservation. Experience working on archaeological and/or world
cultures collections would be seen as beneficial.

We are seeking a highly organised individual, who can balance diverse workloads
and complete projects to agreed deadlines and budgets. You will liaise with a
variety of stakeholders and will be confident in presenting work publicly. It
is essential to pass a colour vision test for this role.
