BPG TIPS Session 2019

AIC 47th Annual Meeting

Uncasville, CT & New England

May 13th-17th

The Book and Paper Group would like to host a fun, informative, and
practical TIPS SESSION as part of the 2019 Book and Paper Group program at
the AIC Annual Meeting in New England. We invite contributors from BPG and
all AIC Specialty Groups to participate. Share tips with your friends and
colleagues about your discoveries, favorite tools, advice, techniques, and
lessons learned.

Tips can relate to treatment, documentation, lab/studio set‐up, research,
or any other aspect of your work as a conservator of book and paper
materials. Here are a few ideas:

‐Tell us about a new technique, tool, or material you've been using for
treatments

‐Describe how you customized lab equipment with some elbow grease and
dollar store supplies

‐Tell us about a vendor you've discovered for hard‐to‐find gadgets

‐Tell us about your creative solution or innovation to a problem

‐Talk about treatments that didn't go as planned or have you stumped

Tips should be short and sweet (about five minutes each) and, most
importantly, *informal *‐ Powerpoint slides are not required! This will be
a fast and furious one-hour session, so try flying solo with a few brief
words, maybe prepare a handout to share, or keep to a slide or two to get
your point across. There's very little pressure. Your BPG friends and
colleagues want to hear from you!

Please submit your tip in the form of a short description directly to the
BPG Program Chair, Jen Hunt Johnson [email protected].
<[email protected]> Tips will be reviewed as they are received, with a
deadline of* March 31st *for full consideration. Accepted presenters will
be notified by April 5th. Please get in touch if you have any further
questions about the session.

Join the fun, engage your colleagues, and share your tip!
