The California Historical Society (CHS) is seeking a contractor to perform a
Collections Assessment in order to assess the status and needs of the CHS
Collection; evaluate the viability of the Old U.S. Mint as a potential home for
CHS's collections and collections-related units; and make recommendations for
collections care, management, and storage, in alignment with the Old U.S. Mint
Restoration Project<https://oldmintrestorationproject.org/>.

The team awarded the Collections Assessment contract will gather and analyze
collections-related data; assess cataloging and collection management systems;
evaluate current and potential collections storage facilities (including the
Old U.S. Mint); and make recommendations for the care, management, and storage
of the CHS Collection. This 6-9 month project will commence in July/August 2019.

Please contact Susan D. Anderson<mailto:[email protected]>, Director of
Collections, Library, Exhibitions, and Programs, to request the RFP and for
further information. Interested individuals and firms should express their
intent to submit a proposal by April 26; the deadline for submitting final
