The California Historical Society (CHS) is seeking a contractor to perform a Collections Assessment in order to assess the status and needs of the CHS Collection; evaluate the viability of the Old U.S. Mint as a potential home for CHS's collections and collections-related units; and make recommendations for collections care, management, and storage, in alignment with the Old U.S. Mint Restoration Project<https://oldmintrestorationproject.org/>.
The team awarded the Collections Assessment contract will gather and analyze collections-related data; assess cataloging and collection management systems; evaluate current and potential collections storage facilities (including the Old U.S. Mint); and make recommendations for the care, management, and storage of the CHS Collection. This 6-9 month project will commence in July/August 2019. Please contact Susan D.
