A reminder to please attend, and especially consider presenting at our second
annual “Mistakes” event at the 74th Annual AIC Meeting this year, a lunch
session 12-2 PM on Friday, May 17th.
As in last year’s event, colleagues will share their experiences to benefit our
professional community. We aim to foster a healthier and more realistic
attitude so that when things do go wrong, we can “Fail Productively,” as
discussed in a recent New York Times
article<https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/17/smarter-living/talking-about-failure-is-crucial-for-growth-heres-how-to-do-it-right.html?nytapp=true&smid=nytcore-ios-share>.
We will gather over a delicious lunch and share our stories—which can include
treatment, communication, and project management errors, mishaps, and
accidents—with the goal of helping our colleagues to not repeat them. You will
need to purchase a ticket for this lunch, but prices will be relatively low
thanks to our generous sponsor the Bruker Corporation.

Please consider stepping up to the podium--we need participants! You can
present for up to 5 minutes. If you prefer to remain anonymous or are unable to
attend the event in person, we are happy to organize a reader to present on
your behalf.

If you are interested in participating, or have questions about the event,
please contact Tony Sigel at
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>, Kari Rayner, at
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> or Rebecca Gridley at
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> by April
20th. [GR1]<applewebdata://B2AE26AA-E64C-41F4-8993-B0686BC260C3#_msocom_1> We
simply ask for 2-3 quick sentences introducing your topic and to know whether
you plan to use a PowerPoint with images and/or video.

We hope to see you there!
