I wanted to share a recent job posting, at the Los Angeles County Museum of
Art (LACMA), with all of you. The position is for a Kinetic Sculpture
Technician and the job description/info can be found below.


*Kinetic Sculpture Technician (Regular, Part-Time)Conservation Center*

Reporting to the Kinetic Sculpture Conservator, the Kinetic Sculpture
Technician operates and oversees upkeep of kinetic sculpture, “Metropolis
II” by Chris Burden.

Some duties include: overseeing mechanical components of the conveyor
system, cars, and trains while the sculpture is running; problem
solving any minor issues associated with operating the sculpture;
performing maintenance, repairs, and conservation of the sculpture, as
directed; working with various departments as it pertains to operation of
"Metropolis II"; performing other duties or special projects, as assigned.

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Conservation or
related field and at least two years of related experience.
