https://www.ligatus.org.uk/lcd/meeting/terminology The Linked Conservation Data Consortium is organizing a free workshop in Stanford (Redwood City, California) to discuss terminology in conservation. Conservation domain expertise is needed. Registration is now open here: https://goo.gl/forms/wilbpdgYmf74jPbu1 The workshop takes place over two days. On the afternoon of Thursday the 6th of June, participants will have the chance to attend a series of lectures introducing the principles of structured vocabularies (Knowledge Organisation Systems, KOS) and their relation to Linked Data. On Friday the 7th of June, participants will discuss specific controlled vocabularies, glossaries and thesauri in conservation (see this list: https://www.ligatus.org.uk/lcd/controlled-vocabularies) and propose new projects to link these vocabularies to enable sharing of data. This is not a technical workshop and we need participants with conservation domain expertise to assess the vocabularies. If you think that the above list is missing important vocabularies, please contact us, or fill in this questionnaire: https://goo.gl/forms/BUKdcCctiRBF3WxC2 [https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/k1WJ27XZLUeLmwcJJvygkbtdkpLNdl1UENozwm6VSegMnWS2DuvYwkGNX7QVz2uJqPw=w1200-h630-p]<https://goo.gl/forms/BUKdcCctiRBF3WxC2> Linked Conservation Data - Thesaurus and Glossary Usage Questionnaire<https://goo.gl/forms/BUKdcCctiRBF3WxC2> goo.gl Kristen St.John Head of Conservation Services Preservation Department Stanford University Libraries 500 Broadway Redwood City, CA 94063 650-485-9717 ****** Unsubscribe by sending a message to [email protected] Searchable archives: http://cool.conservation-us.org/byform/mailing-lists/cdl/
