IMMEDIATE OPENING: Summer 2019 Assistant Painting Conservator (term)
West Lake Conservators is seeking a full-time Assistant Paintings Conservator to undertake assessment, treatments and on-site projects duties while employees are on Family Leave. The Assistant Paintings Conservator will participate in a broad range of preservation activities including assessment; time management; treatment; re-housing; preparations for travel; environmental monitoring; and routine lab maintenance. This position is for a three month term, June-August, with the possibility of a fourth month. The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate of a recognized conservation program with a specialty in paintings seeking to gain experience in a private practice or an experienced conservator looking to fill time between positions. Working transportation and the ability to lift 50 lbs is necessary.
