The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston seeks applicants for an advanced level fellowship in Textile Conservation funded by the Fairchild Foundation. This is a full-time, two-year appointment beginning in the fall of 2019. The Fairchild Fellow will have the opportunity for in-depth examination and treatment of artworks and to participate in a wide range of conservation activities with conservators, conservation scientists, collections care specialists and curators. The Fellow will conduct research and take part in all aspects of installation and preventative care of a large survey collection. Fellows are encouraged to carry out a publishable research project. Applicants must have a graduate degree in conservation from a recognized program or have equivalent work or apprenticeship experience, a minimum of one year of practical experience beyond graduation, and experience with a variety of analytical instruments. Compensation includes salary and travel allowance, in addition to a generous benefits package. Application materials are being accepted immediately.
