Experienced Paintings Conservator, The Netherlands Studio Redivivus, located in The Hague in The Netherlands, provides specialist expertise for the conservation and restoration of small to large-scale paintings: old masters, modern and contemporary art. Experienced Paintings Conservator 40 hours per week (fulltime) for 0,5–1 year, starting as soon as possible, with the possibility to renew your contract for another 1–2 years. What kind of projects will you be working on? The conservator will be, jointly, responsible for the optimal conservation and restoration of paintings in our care, ranging from Old Masters’, Modern and Contemporary paintings. This will include thorough assessment of the art works, technical imaging, reference-based research, reporting, as well as delivering top quality restoration, preservation and pro-active conservation. If you have acquired skills and experience in technical imaging – using X-radiography, Infra-red reflectography, Ultraviolet imaging and pigment analysis – then that would be a real plus. Whom will you be working with? Redivivus comprises a small, international team of employees, free-lancers and interns, situated on the outskirts of The Hague, The Netherlands. English is our language of communication. Who are we looking for? * Post graduate in paintings conservation from a recognized and well-regarded institution; * At least 5 years of experience as a paintings conservator; * Solid knowledge of art history; * Experienced in technical imaging and reference-based research * Constructive team member who can also work independently; * Fluency in English (written and verbal) and knowledge of at least one other European language; * A pro-active, passionate and industrious colleague who works according to high standards, and is at ease with clients, suppliers as well as unforeseen obstacles. Terms of employment The position is for 0,5–1 year. The contract may be extended by 1-2 years. Depending on education and experience, the gross monthly salary for a fulltime position of 40 hours per week, will be between € 2500,- and € 4500,-. In addition, you will receive an annual holiday allowance of 8%, travel expenses and a monthly mobile phone contribution of €20,-.
