We are seeking an experienced sculpture conservatorto join the V&A’s sculpture conservation team preparing objects for theMuseum’s exciting and busy programme of new gallery developments, exhibitions,loans and collections care. You will have a recognised qualification insculpture conservation with an appropriate level of relevant post-graduationexperience. You will have experience in planning, prioritising, delivering todeadlines and supervising staff and students. You will undertake all aspects ofpractical preventive and interventive conservation of sculpture objects andwill have a practical knowledge of the relevant materials, inorganic andorganic, including stone, terracotta, plaster, wood, polychrome surfaces, ivoryand also modern materials. The ability toevaluate conservation problems, develop solutions and produce practical workand documentation of a high standard within tight deadlines will beimportant to making the role a success. You will be highly self-motivated and able to organise yourworkload with the minimum of supervision. You will work independently or aspart of a team within Conservation and across other departments and disciplines.You will have good interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate goodcommunication skills, both verbal and written.
