We are recruiting a Senior Lecturer in conservation with specialization in Cultural Heritage Objects to join the leading Conservation Department in Sweden.
The broad subject area includes conservation of organic materials, such as wood, textiles, paper, leather, skeletal remains, plastics or other organic materials. Apply online through the link below by: 2019-08-16 Job assignments The main tasks are research and teaching, such as: * Teach at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. * Supervise conservation students in laboratories. * Design and organize specialized courses in conservation and courses shared with other degrees within the department. * To engage with other members of staff in teaching and research projects. * Manage relevant budgets for individual courses in co-operation with the Coordinator and the Director of Studies. * To liaise with colleagues in other departments and museums to access resources and collections that could be used in the delivery of the programmes * To follow professional development and training needs of museum staff in Sweden, and create partnerships for sharing skills. * Initiate doctoral projects and supervise doctoral students. * Carry out research relevant to the department and the field of expertise * Publish research articles in peer-reviewed, international journals. * To establish and nurture key relationships with museums, the National Heritage Board (RAÄ) and other relevant organizations in Sweden and beyond. * Apply for external research funding. * Undertake or organize conservation services or consultancy as required. * Promote equality of opportunity and demonstrate commitment to diversity, in line with GU regulations. * To promote GU degree programs, research and other activities and act as an ambassador. An important aspect of the position is to collaborate with the surrounding society, both in collaborative projects and in popular science activities.
