Dear Conservators,

This is a message on behalf of Routledge, Taylor & Francis, who have recently
partnered with the online 3D viewing platform Sketchfab to allow authors to
publish 3D models in conservation journals, such as Journal of the American
Institute for Conservation, Studies in Conservation and the Journal of the
Institute of Conservation.

The following is a link to a blog post published on Routledge's Author
Service's site about publishing 3D models in academic journals:
https://authorservices.taylorandfrancis.com/3d-models/. This includes best
practice advice on creating 3D models and preparing them for publication.

This blog post has been written by a PhD student, Sam Bromage, who is working
with Routledge on a project looking at 3D modelling in Archaeology and Heritage
research. Sam has also created a survey on the topic. The aim is to understand
how 3D models are being used by researchers and practitioners in museums,
conservation and cultural heritage.

If you have a chance, we'd be delighted if would take part in this survey
and/or share with your contacts: https://bit.ly/2ZhNX3E

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions about
publishing 3D models in academic journals, or the above research project.
