Applications are sought for a PhD studentship titled "Conservation of Late 19th and 20th Century Artillery Pieces". The Student will be based at Cardiff University and working in collaboration with English Heritage. The PhD is funded as part of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) scheme.
For a project overview please contact [email protected]. Full funding for UK/EU students, dependent on eligibility, is available for 3.5 years. For UK residents this typically includes fees and a maintenance grant (c.£15500 tax free). For EU residents typically this is a fees only award. Part-time study will be considered. Applicants should have or expect to receive a relevant degree-level qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience, including appropriate research skills. Suitable disciplines are flexible, but might include Conservation, Heritage Science, Corrosion Science, Electrochemistry, Physics and Chemistry amongst others.
