Hi all, I've just been in contact with Nouryon Surface Chemistry, the manufacturer of Armeen 2C. I was informed that they are currently out of stock of this product, with no samples available. I was informed that if I wished to obtain any Armeen 2C I would need to order 30 drums.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement for Armeen 2C in low polarity P.A. solvent gel recipes? Is this an active problem in conservation that needs to be addressed? Please let me know if this affects your work practice. My immediate thoughts would be to switch to silicon based gels that do require neutralization by alakine amines, but these do come with their own very distinct working properties and challenges.
