Job Posting- Digital Imaging Technician (San Francisco Bay Area) Gawain Weaver Art Conservation / Two Cat Digital (GWAC) is a leading provider of art conservation services for photographs and works on paper and digital capture of photographic materials, documents, and books. We are located in San Anselmo, CA. GWAC is seeking to fill two full-time temporary positions for a term of 3 months beginning November 1st (start date is flexible). Wages are $25.00/hour (35-40 hours/week). These positions are not eligible for benefits. The primary responsibility of these two positions is the digital capture of photographic materials using medium-format digital backs and 35mm DSLRs in a Mac environment. The job will include training in material handling and digital capture software. This job would be a useful experience for a pre-program conservation person as they will gain experience in copy stand digitization as well as see the day-to-day operations of a private conservation studio with a diverse range of projects. Requirements:
Ability to work for extended periods in a low-light, color-managed work environment Ability to work accurately in a detail- and production-oriented environment Preferred Prior work with photographic materials in an archival environment Experience with Capture One softwareRecognizing that employees and visitors to our offices may have sensitivity or allergic reactions to various fragrant products, GWAC is a fragrance-free workplace.
