Have you heart about french solutions ? :
- HORUS - an app developped for condition report
https://horus-conditionreport.com/en/ <https://horus-conditionreport.com/en/>

- ARTREPORT  which is now integrated to the AA Partners database

[email protected] <http://www.artreport.fr/en/>
I had very good experience of both of them.
Horus generates pdf files.
Art report generates pdf files as well as updated database records.
Sincerely

Subject: Apps for photo editing/sketching - Digital Conservation Reports

For a number of years in my independent practice and at the Tel Aviv museum of
Art Conservation departments we have been using Galaxy Note devices (phones and
tablets) and the bundled S-Note app software which has a reasonable camera with
editing and annotation tools.
We first create a document format either on the device itself or imported, this
is saved and used as a background for future documentation. Files can be as
many number of pages we wish with many photographs added either uploaded or
taken with the device camera, resized, cropped, positioned and annotated within
the document as desired.
While kept within the S-Note file format the document can be edited, objects
signed in and out, treatment progress noted. Once complete the document can be
extracted and shared as a PDF or JPEG by email,  through Google drive or hard
line download.
It is far from perfect the main problems being the compression of image quality
within the S-note software and on conversion to PDF, also on printing out the
screen size is slightly wider than the proportions of our standard A4 sheets,
leading to shrinkage in the printed document. But balanced by the speed
especially of incoming exhibition loan reports (which remain digital generally)
makes the tablet an indispensable tool for our departments.
Another issue to be aware of, manufacturers can without notice change their app
software. two years ago when we bought new tablets for the department we were
dismayed to see that the S-Note app had been "dumbed" down so much by Samsung
to be almost unusable. My colleague had to search and install for an older
version of S-Note app for the tablets, even so we lost some of the functions
due to compatibility issues. Hopefully we still have a couple more years of use
in the current devices before we need to deal with these issues again, no app
lasts forever unfortunately.

Subject: Apps for photo editing/sketching - Digital Conservation Reports

Dear ConsDistList subscribers,

I would like to ask you about your experiences with digital photo editing,
sketching and drawing. I am conservator at the National Museum of Antiquities
in the Netherlands, and for our next touring exhibition we would like to
implement the use of iPads and other digital tools for making our condition
reports. I am now looking into different apps for photo editing, or better
said, photo sketching and drawing. I am looking for an app that allows us to
pinpoint those details in the photos that we want to double-check while doing
condition check on each venue. I have tried some of them but I have the feeling
that I am looking in an endless sea of possibilities and I am not finding what
I want.
The photo editing apps like Snapseed are not adequate since we actually need to
do any editing, but rather write and draw on them. I've tried some sketching
apps, but I most of them lack a more simple range of fill-in patterns, with
simple geometric patters in b/w. I don't think using pink hearts and kittens'
paws is the best idea...

Have you found yourself in such a quest? Any positive (and negative)
recommendations? It would mean a lot of help to reduce the list of apps to
check out at list a bit.

Thank you all in advance.
