INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM CONFERENCE ON CLIMATE CHANGE
  https://www.museumclimate.org/ <https://www.museumclimate.org/>
911 April, Vienna, Austria
At the end of the research project Modelling museum pests, fungi and indoor
climate", based in the Natural History Museum Vienna, we organize an
international conference in climate change and its effects on museums. The
talks will cover different aspects like such as the effects or outdoor climate
on the indoor climate, on insects, fungi, but also energy consumption.
We want to bring together conservators, experts for climate change and climate
modelling, planers of sustainable museum buildings, building facilities,
microbiologist, entomologists and material scientists, that will present their
newest results and discuss with you, how we can adapt our museum buildings, the
indoor climate and find sustainable solutions. Presentation of good practice
examples will be an important contribution.

Climate change is one of big challenge of the 21th century and our collections
are at risk of increasing temperature and extreme weather events. Come to the
beautiful city of Vienna to listen to exiting talks and discuss with us the
future of museums!

Subject: Vacancies at the V&A - Lead Preventive Conservator
 Message:
The V&A is a family of museums dedicated to the power of creativity. Our
mission is to champion design and creativity in all its forms, advance cultural
knowledge, and inspire makers, creators and innovators everywhere. We share a
5,000-year-old story of creativity through exhibitions, events, educational
programmes, digital experiences, conservation, research, and an ever-evolving
national collection of over 2.8m objects spanning every creative discipline.

The Lead Preventive Conservator plays a pivotal role in providing leadership in
preventive conservation initiatives across all V&A sites. The focus is on
ensuring high-quality delivery in areas such as Integrated Pest Management,
environmental monitoring, housekeeping programme, and object-rotation across
all galleries. The Lead Preventive Conservator works in collaboration with
Conservation and other teams across the museum (including exhibitions, tours,
loans, capital projects, and estates) to support projects with risk-based
collections expertise and advice.

The Lead Preventive Conservator actively promotes a culture of preventive
conservation cross all V&A sites by liaising with, advising, supporting,
influencing, and training stakeholders. The post holder will contribute to and
provide support to the V&A's Sustainability agenda and Net Zero targets.
