Hi Brian, I'm curious how well this works in practice; doesn't it need to be closely synced to the dance tempo to avoid the calls getting off the music?
It looks like it defaults to 128bpm, which is a good bit higher than I'd expect at most dances. I wonder if 120bpm might be a better default setting? It also looks like this will have problems with bands changing tempos while they play? Which happens a lot (for both intentional and unintentional reasons). Have you considered integrating beat detection? Then it wouldn't need the user to specify the speed, and could adjust smoothly with any tempo changes during the dance.
