You're welcome. But...
I followed your added rm instructions but the following files still exist after
a locate command after an updatedb:

[r...@commserver ~]# locate affa
/usr/lib/affa
/sbin/e-smith/affa-rpmlist.sh
/etc/e-smith/templates/etc/cron.d/affa-status
/etc/e-smith/templates/etc/cron.d/affa
/var/cache/yum/smecontribs/packages/smeserver-affa-1.0.0-3.el4.sme.noarch.rpm
/var/cache/yum/smecontribs/headers/smeserver-affa-1.0.0-3.el4.sme.noarch.hdr
/var/lock/affa

I think if we were to expand templates again, we would get the affa and
affa-status cron re-established. Right? Should we write a remove script and
then ask people to run that and then ask then to rm the script?

You have a great contrib and I want to make it almost perfect.
