Summary: Can't modify Calendar permissions after sharing
           Product: SME Contribs
  Found-In-Version: 7.4
          Platform: PC
  Fixed-In-Version: Unknown
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: P3
         Component: kronolith
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
         QAContact: [email protected]

A user "lrc" logs in in Horde, sees her Calendar and configures it as shared
(permissions are irrelevant for this bug).

She logs out and logs in again, and she can't change her Calendar's permissions
any more, giving an error "you don't have enough permissions".

It turns out that the first time she logged in, she used the name "Lrc" (first
capital) to do it, and the system let her in. When she shared her Calendar,
permissions were created in the Horde datatree for the "[email protected]"
Calendar. Afterwards, when correctly logged in as "lrc", she could access her
Calendar, but not modify its permissions. This also happened for a user "mva",
who was logged in as "MVA" (all caps) when sharing her Calendar for the first
time.

So my conclusion is: the Horde system lets you in regardless of the case of
your username, BUT some of the accesses and checks after that ARE case
sensitive.

My emergency solution (just happened to two users): backup the Horde database,
and manually substitute all instances of "[email protected]" in every Horde table
to the correct "[email protected]". The same for the other user. Needless to say,
this was extremely timeconsuming and error prone (it took me nearly an hour and
a half to fix the mess). All is OK so far.

I have also warned everyone that it is *strictly* needed to log in with the
username in lowercase.

I suppose some changes should be made to Kronolith or Horde in order to fix
this. Meanwhile, something could be done in SME Server to only allow lowercase
usernames in the webmail login page, which would avoid this issue.

Thanks
Jorge
