I tried ldap and it is as messy as the unix plugin (was). I don't know if
there is a way to clean this up as SME creates a user and group for every user
OR group even in the ldap database.
I have been able to perfect the unix plugin (see bug #5828) and this is the
cleanest and easiest method as of now with the new zarafa 6.4.
I propose we don't have a default plugin. We state the pros and cons of each
and let the user decide like you do now.
I believe the future will be ldap because of the many advantages but it looks
far away at this point.
SME 7.4 + zarafa 6.4 (using unix plugin) is a really promising alternative to
an exchange server.
