Summary: Dar backups broken - Badly formatted terminator,
                    cannot extract catalogue location
    Classification: Contribs
           Product: SME Contribs
           Version: development (8.x)
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Unknown
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: smeserver-dar2
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
         QAContact: [email protected]

I wouldn't have used 8.x except that we have Win 7 machines in the
office. It's mostly worked well until now. Only what is typically
available is installed (no foreign repositories added/etc).
e-smith-flexbackup-2.2.0-1.el5.sme
flexbackup-1.2.1-1.el5.sme
e-smith-backup-2.2.0-46.el5.sme
dar-2.3.8-1.el5.sme

Whatever script runs to do nightly backups doesn't write the file that
contains the catalog file. So while I may have 120G of dar slice files
I have no idea what I can do to restore files the users want or how to
fix the backups so that I can restore in the future.

What I have on the usb drive is this layout:
<hostname.directory.local>
   set0
     full-201101171800.1.dar
     ...(2-178)...
     full-201101171800.179.dar
   set1
     full-201101181800.179.dar
     ...
     full-201101181800.179.dar
   set2
   ...set3-5...
   set6

>From the web interface when I try to verify the backup every backup
fails verification for the same reason. The machine is fully up to
date with updates. Any ideas how I can fix the backups?
