As I expected, the latest version of Zarafa (7.1.3-40304) runs out of the box
on SME9-alpha1 without the need for the rebuilt php53-mapi.  There are 3 issues
that need to be fixed...

1) innodb configuration is wrong and MySQL will not start.  See Bug 7363.
2) Need to remove the php53-mapi requirement from smeserver-zarafa-unix.
3) Need to add support for the new zarafa webapp.
