--- Comment #12 from Ray Burns <[email protected]> ---
I am hitting a wall trying to understand what could be system bug, and what is
"dumb-user" error.
As of right now, I am setting up an additional AFFA VM, but the initial takes a
lot of time because it is 1.7 TB of data.
Originally, placing all the information including the /etc/ and /home/
directories in their proper place on the restored machine allowed all the users
and operations to be successful except for one user.
That specific user, I know for a fact, had a password that was generated way
below the standard password strength as allowed by
http://wiki.contribs.org/Password_Strength. I suspected that because the error
log showed
Jun 24 09:35:45 mtrose esmith::event[1563]: WARNING in
/etc/e-smith/templates//var/qmail/users/assign/60users: Failed to obtain user
details for 'geek' while processing user assignments.
Jun 24 09:35:45 mtrose esmith::event[1563]: WARNING in
/etc/e-smith/templates//var/qmail/users/assign/70pseudonyms: Failed to obtain
user details for 'geek' while processing pseudonym assignments.
Jun 24 09:35:45 mtrose esmith::event[1563]: WARNING: Template processing
succeeded for //var/qmail/users/assign: 2 fragments generated warnings
After the deletion of that user, everything worked, however, the log file still
shows some warnings and issues.
Jun 28 18:12:24 mtrose esmith::event[12359]: WARNING in
/etc/e-smith/templates//var/service/qpsmtpd/config/peers/0/70spamassassin: Use
of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) at
/etc/e-smith/templates//var/service/qpsmtpd/config/peers/0/70spamassassin line
29.
Jun 28 18:12:24 mtrose esmith::event[12359]: WARNING: Template processing
succeeded for //var/service/qpsmtpd/config/peers/0: 1 fragment generated
warnings
As of now, rsync or moving the information in the AFFA archive to the
production machine in proper location restores users appropriately, but I have
one VM going up to confirm.
